No Fools here!

April is the 4th month of the year, and it is named after the Latin word “aperire” meaning ”to open” as it signifies the opening of Spring. The flower associated with April is the Daisy.

A few notable dates:

April is National Pet month – to raise awareness of responsible pet ownership. Myco are a team of pet parents, 7 cats, 1 dog and 2 guinea pigs.

1st April – April Fool’s day – its origin is unknown, but some believe it is linked to Roman Spring festivals, medieval literature and calendar changes in 16th-century France.

4th April – National Carrot Day – carrots can be traced back 5,000 years, believed to originate from Persia (Iran), they naturally come in many colours, white, red and purple to name a few. We mostly know them as orange, and this has been attributed to the Dutch royal family in the 17th-century the House of Orange-Nassau and in honour of them, items were to be mostly orange which of course included the humble carrot.

April 18th – 21st Easter, with our first long weekend of 2025.

April 21st – National Tea Day – Brew more. Do more.

April 25th – St Georges Day – not the dragon slayer from stories, but in fact a Roman soldier who was tortured and beheaded by Rome.

The start of the new financial year is also upon us, and the chance to take stock of the successes of the last 10 months and how we can take these successes forward and improve on them.

New projects just today, so a fabulous start to the new financial year – busy, busy, busy!

Bit chilly out there…

February is the month usually considered to be the last month of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and also gives us Valentines and the leap year.

February is already hurtling us towards Spring, the light at the end of the long dark mornings and nights, we’ll soon be commuting in daylight hours.

Here at Myco we have been busy with projects across the country, working with clients we have worked with for a long time to new clients on impressive and interesting projects.

Our Design Engineers have travelled as far afield as London, Bristol, Ipswich and Cornwall over the past couple of months to work on design projects, which demonstrates our reach, flexibility and our industry reputation.

We are lucky to have a number of projects for the upcoming months and beyond which will keep us busy and mischief at bay!

So, February is upon us and promises great things so far, February isn’t just about romance; St Valentine is also the patron saint of Terni (a town in Italy where he was born), Epilepsy and Beekeepers. No one can say we don’t like to provide you with interesting facts!

So until next month…

Happy New Year from all of us at Myco Design Limited

We hope that you all enjoyed a peaceful Christmas and joyous New Year.

We are now ready for the challenges of 2025 and celebrating our 1-year anniversary in May this year.

The start of a new year provides us all with hope for change; some make resolutions; some we keep, some not as much, but surely it is the thought that counts?

If there is one thing we can all do everyday is think before we speak and always try to be kind, kindness goes a long way in forging great business relationships which will in turn be fruitful for everyone.

So, let us all see 2025 as a NEW year one whereby we can make changes in our businesses for the better, build better relationships and forge new ones.

Cheers to 2025
